The place is not easy to find. There are no markers, no signs along the road. But people still strive to find this great, relaxing place in Tiaong, Quezon Province.
There’s good food, zen-like garden, and of course, pretty pottery items. It’s a long drive from Manila, but it’s worth it.
Occasionally, Ugu gives pottery and cooking lessons. It’s an ideal place for people wishing to de-stress on a weekend.
It’s picture-perfect where ever you go
Wind chimes blending perfectly with the wall of bamboos.
Each kubo has its own intricate design and decorations.
Pathways are stamped with leaf-shaped stones, bringing the garden guests even closer to nature.
My favorite spot. Right after lunch, we moved here to sip kapeng barako (locally grown coffee) and to lie down a bit.
Guests are welcome to try their hands on pottery.

Directions
Just a warning: Ugu Bigyan’s place is not the usual tourist attraction where you can find signs and arrows telling you how to go there. From Manila, drive to South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and exit at Batangas/Lucena. Take the Maharlika Highway route until you reach Tiaong, Quezon. You will pass by that other famous tourist spot, Villa Escudero, right after the Tiaong arch. It is about 5 kilometers away from Villa Escudero.
When you reach the municipal government building, drive straight until you pass by two Iglesia ni Kristo buildings, one on the left side and another on the right. Upon reaching the second church, turn left at a narrower road with a tricycle terminal. This is Kalayaan Street, Barangay Lusacan, but it would be advisable to look for the landmarks and not the road names. Turn left again after passing by a basketball court.
If you are commuting, take a bus to Lucena from Kamias, Quezon City, or at Buendia corner Taft Avenue, and get off at the place indicated above. The tricycle drivers would know the place.
